Katz Deli announced it will open its fifth Houston-area location at 10321-A Katy Freeway within MetroNational’s mixed-use development at Memorial City. The New York-style eatery famously operates around the clock, making it a worthy addition to the area, specifically for employees of the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center who seek 24-hour options. Construction for the newest outpost is set to begin early next year, with its opening slated for early 2026.
Chris Shepherd’s Table to Stage series has a new home at the House of Blues Music Hall at GreenStreet. In its next installment, Shepherd will be joined by Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio on Sunday, November 17 from 6 to 8 p.m., during which time the duo will discuss the television personality’s culinary journey, his role on Top Chef, and new book Why I Cook.

Mutiny Wine Room is ringing in the fall season with an array of new dishes from chef Eduardo Alcayaga. The fall menu highlights the bounty of the season with dishes like baked pastry-wrapped brie with spiced pear compote and house-made rye sourdough; Patagonian grilled shrimp with sweet roasted shishito pepper sauce, toasted nori, and micro purple shiso; and smoked duck breast with an orange and plum glaze and ginger stir-fried rice.
1891 American Eatery & Bar has launched a new happy hour menu, available for extended hours, from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday and Thursday; 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; and all day on Saturday and Sunday. During these times, the casual Heights restaurant offers discounts on bar bites like crispy pork rinds, jalapeno biscuits and chicken tenders, and chipotle pimento cheese pretzels, plus drink specials like $4 drafts, $5 premium wells, and $8 specialty cocktails.
In celebration of Tacodeli’s new partnership with Cuvee Coffee, the taqueria is giving away free coffee with any purchase at all of its Texas locations through Monday, November 11. Tacodeli and Cuvee Coffee are both products of Austin from the late ‘90s, who share a similar ethos when it comes to sourcing premium ingredients, making the pairing a natural fit.
